Hyderabad: Alleging that former Congress MP
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was encouraging his "henchmen to attack"
its leaders during the campaign for Kadapa Lok Sabha bypoll in
Andhra Pradesh, the ruling party on Saturday petitioned the election
authorities to take action against him.
"Chiranjeevi (actor, MLA) who was on campaign yesterday
in the constituency, was attacked with eggs and chappals etc.
This is indicative of the terror to be created by the
hooligans of the said Independent candidate (Jagan)," Congress
said in a representation to state Chief Electoral Officer
(CEO), Bhanwar Lal.
Chiranjeevi, who has decided to merge his Praja Rajyam
with Congress, campaigned for Congress in Kadapa yesterday.
The supporters of Jagan were distributing pamphlets to
the voters to vote for him without giving statutory details
like the name of the printing press and number of copies, the
Jagan is seeking re-election from Kadapa Lok Sabha in
the bypoll, to be held on May 8.
