Hyderabad: The war of words between
ruling Congress and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy continued
on Wednesday with the former demanding that the latter come clean on
allegations of misuse of power and corruption against him.

"He should reply to the allegations of misuse of power
and amassing wealth," state Congress spokesmen Paladugu Venkat
Rao and N Tulasi Reddy told reporters here.
The criticism against Jagan by the Congress
spokespersons came in the wake of frequent attacks on the
State Government by the Kadapa MP.

Meanwhile, Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao played down
the thumping victory of Jagan in the just-concluded Kadapa
bypolls.

Alleging that Jagan`s family had a history of
indulging in group politics in Kadapa, he said there is
nothing great in his victory.

"Jagan is son of the soil. P V Narasimha Rao got a
majority of over five lakhs though he was not son of the
soil," Shankar Rao said.
Rao alleged that the Congress candidate lost in Kadapa as
some of the MLAs and ministers, who were deputed for poll
campaign, had earlier wanted Jagan as Chief Minister.

Rao has sent a letter to party President Sonia Gandhi
analysing the reasons for the failure of Congress nominees in
the bypolls.
