Jawan dies at railway station in AP

An army jawan died and three others sustained burn injuries, one of them seriously, due to electrocution at Pendyal railway station in Warrangal.

Warangal: An army jawan died and three others
sustained burn injuries, one of them seriously, due to
electrocution at Pendyal railway station in Warangal district
of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.

The incident occurred when a special train with army
jawans that was on its way to Rajasthan had stopped at the
station, railway police said.

When the train reached Pendyal station, a jawan,
identified as Afiz Ahmed (36), climbed a luggage coach to
check a vehicle loaded on it. But accidentally, he touched a
high tension wire and died on the spot, they said.

On hearing the cries, his colleagues came for his rescue
but they too sustained burn injuries.

The deceased and another jawan, identified as Arshad who
was seriously injured, hailed from Jammu and Kashmir, they
said, adding two more jawans sustained minor injuries.
