Journalist washed away in rivulet

A journalist was washed away when he was going to his relatives residence with his wife in a car in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh today.

away when he was going to his relatives residence with his
wife in a car in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh
today.

V Nageswara Rao, a reporter with a telugu daily, left
in a car with his wife Padmavathi from Ravulapalem to
Kulitekuru village in the district. When they reached the
village, Rao lost control on the vehicle and fell into
the road side Mukteswaram rivulet, police said.

However, the passers-by, who noticed the incident
brought his wife to shore, while Rao is untraced. The car
traveled in the water for about two kms and passersby have
brought the vehicle to the bank. But Rao still missing.

His wife said that Rao knows swimming. Nageswara Rao
is from the neighbouring West Godavari district.

Amalapuram DSP Reddy Gangadhar Rao launched searches
to trace Rao.

The district is experiencing heavy rains for the last
three days to the depression formed in the Bay of Bengal.

The rivers and rivulets are receiving high inflows due
to rains in the catchment areas.
