New Delhi: Lending his support to the
Telangana cause, RJD chief Lalu Prasad today demanded that the
Centre form the separate state at the earliest.

"When Bihar was divided there was an opinion that small
states are good for development. The people of Telangana, both
young and old, men and women are agitating for formation of
the state in a democratic manner.

Government should not delay
any further the formation of Telangana," Prasad, who expressed
solidarity with Congress members protesting in Parliament
premises over the issue, told reporters.

Eight Congress members from Telangana region of Andhra
Pradesh staged a protest at the main entrance of Parliament to
press for their demand for formation of the state.

The Congress members agitating for Telangana held
placards which read, "Honour your commitment. Give separate
state of Telangana" and raised slogans "Form Telangana, save
democracy", "Respect Telangana, form Telangana".

Madhu Yashki Goud, Congress member, claimed there is
some forward movement from the government on the Telangana
issue.
