Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative
Council was adjourned for 15 minutes Tuesday following demands
by members from Telangana region that a bill be tabled in
Parliament for formation of separate Telangana.
The Telangana congress MLCs, who have already
announced that they will stay away from the session, raised
their demand. They were supported by TDP MLCs from Telangana.
This prompted Council Chairman A Chakrapani to adjourn
the house for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, CPI and TDP members sought a debate on the
police firing incident in Srikakulam district yesterday on
villagers who were protesting against setting up of a thermal
power plant in the area.
