Hyderabad: A high-level meet to discuss `Dial 100` Integrated Emergency Communication System (IECS), which is scheduled to be launched through a pilot-mode in the country, was today held at Police headquarters here.
Director, National Police Mission, Ish Kumar explained the importance of integrated communication system linking the essential services. He also informed about the pilot project would be taken up in four more states, according to a release from the DGP office.
Optimal Solution Technologies (OST), a New York based firm has prepared the detailed Project Report on `Dial 100` for Hyderabad city.
Andhra Pradesh DGP, V Dinesh Reddy said, the purpose of the exercise is to initiate pro-active Police response management by providing modern control room, computerized dispatch, GPS fitted vehicles, integration with fire brigade, ambulance etc.
"The use of an integrated system will allow us to be pro-active and better prepared to handle all types of emergencies including disasters and enable government to have control over the situation," Reddy said.
OST representatives explained how the system will take care of the emergencies faced by the society here.
The representatives clarified that the proposed project will serve all the emergency services and has call back arrangements to arrest the blank calls in an integrated way. Ultimately this service will become a one-stop service for entire India, the release added.
