`Objectionable` remarks: EC notice to Chiranjeevi

EC served a notice on Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi for allegedly making objectionable remarks during campaigning for Tirupati by-polls.

Hyderabad: The Election Commission today served a notice on Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi for allegedly making certain objectionable remarks during the campaigning for by-election in Andhra Pradesh`s Tirupati Assembly constituency last month, sources said.

Chiranjeevi allegedly remarked that the sanctity of temple town Tirupati would be lost if YSR Congress was voted in the bypoll.
Based on a complaint filed by the YSR Congress Party, the election commission issued a notice to the actor-turned-politician, asking him to give an explanation by tomorrow, official sources said.
