Ongoing stir won`t stop Telangana`s creation: TRS chief

The TRS on Sunday said the ongoing agitation for united Andhra Pradesh would not stop the formation of separate Telangana.

Hyderabad: The TRS on Sunday said the ongoing agitation for united Andhra Pradesh would not stop the formation of separate Telangana.

"The agitations cannot stop the formation of Telangana
state. Once the Centre takes a decision, you will be crushed
like a small stone under a road-roller. The Centre`s decisions
are implemented in letter and spirit," TRS president K
Chandrasekhar Rao said while addressing a gathering at the
party headquarters here.

In a veiled attack to actor-politician Chiranjeevi who is
supporting the agitation for an united Andhra Pradesh, Rao
threatened to stop the screening of films of those who support
a united state in the Telangana region.

"Why should we watch your films if you are not concerned
about Telangana. Don`t we have actors and film-makers here,"
he said.

Training his guns on Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu
Naidu, Rao demanded that the former chief minister spell out
his stand on the Telangana issue.

"TDP leaders in non-Telangana regions campaign for united
Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, the same party leaders in
Telangana speak of a different issue. Why is it so?" he asked.

"Chandrababu Naidu speaks for hours with media and party
leaders. But for the last eight days, he has not stepped out
of his house. Why? He should make his stand clear on
Telangana," Rao said.

The TRS chief said TDP agreed to support the separate
Telangana at an all-party meeting, but changed its stand after
the Centre made the announcement.

He said an emotional divide has emerged between people
from Telangana and non-Telangana regions in the state.

"We have seen the divide between Telangana MPs and others
in Parliament. We had seen such a divide in the assembly. Now,
Telangana employees and others can not work together in
government offices," he said.

Meanwhile, Rao has deferred his proposed `bus yatra` to
celebrate the Centre`s decision following medical advice
against it.
