Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to visit Puttaparti town in Andhra Pradesh`s Anantapur district on November 22 to take part in the convocation ceremony of Sri Sathya Sai University.

Puttaparti is the abode of godman Sathya Sai Baba.
Initially, the Prime Minister was expected to take part in the
85th birthday celebrations of Sathya Sai Baba on November 23.
But now the state government received information that
Manmohan Singh may take part in the convocation a day ahead of
the birthday celebrations, State Information Minister J Geeta
Reddy said today.

President Pratibha Patil will take part in the "women`s
day" events in Puttaparti on November 19 as part of Baba`s
birthday celebrations, the minister said.

The state Cabinet which met here today under the
chairmanship of Chief Minister K Rosaiah discussed the visit
of the Prime Minister to the state.

Since the Prime Minister would be visiting the state, the
Chief Minister decided to postpone the winter session of the
state Legislature, originally scheduled to begin on November
22. The new schedule of the Legislature session would be
announced later, Reddy said.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet discussed at length the demand for
setting up a bench of High Court between Vijayawada and
Guntur. "A decision on this will be taken at the appropriate
time," the Information Minister quoted the Chief Minister as
saying.
