Private plane crash lands after engine snag

A plane belonging to a training academy on Friday crash landed in a field on the outskirts of the city following an engine snag, but the two persons onboard escaped unhurt, police said.

Ahmedabad: A plane belonging to a training academy on Friday crash landed in a field on the outskirts of the city following an engine snag, but the two persons onboard escaped unhurt, police said.

Cessna-152 of Ahmedabad Aviation and Aeronautics (AAA),
used to train pilots, made an emergency landing near Jagatpur
this morning after taking off from Ahmedabad airport for a
training session with Captain Naresh Devjani and trainee pilot
Gayatri Sardeshpande.

After over 15 nautical miles, the engine developed a
technical problem in the engine following which the pilot
decided to land it, they said.

The front wheel and the fan of the plane were damaged due
to the impact of the emergency landing on an uneven surface,
they said.

Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and AAA officials
were inspecting the reasons behind the incident.
