Hyderabad: Congress MLAs and several other
leaders close to Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy today
appealed the high command to reconsider the suspension of
State Congress general secretary Ambati Rambabu, who is a
close aide of the legislator.
"Rambabu`s comments need not be looked at in an elaborate
way. His intention was only to ask why so many hurdles are
there for Jagan`s yatra," Congress MLA P Srikant Reddy, a
close associate of Jagan, told reporters here.
"We all want Congress to be strengthened and the party
cadre to remain intact. It is only because of the cadre that
we returned to power. So, we want the elders to kindly lift
the suspension on Rambabu and that sincere workers are taken care of," he said.
Another MLA D Sudheer Reddy also sought the suspension
against Rambabu revoked.

Devasthanam and a Jagan supporter, said the suspension against the PCC general secretary should be reconsidered.
Congress on Saturday suspended Rambabu on the charge of
indulging in anti-party activities.
He was recently summoned before the party`s disciplinary
committee to explain his outburst against Chief Minister K
Quoting the party constitution, Rambabu had demanded
additional time for replying to the allegations. However, he
was suspended on Saturday despite being given time till
July-end to file his reply.
Rambabu, however, said yesterday he had not received any
official communication about the disciplinary action against
Jagan had yesterday said he was pained by the suspension
of Rambabu by the AICC.
"Ambati Rambabu walked with my father for 1,500 km during
his historic `padayatra` before 2004 elections. It is because
of the work done by activists like him that Congress won
Assembly elections twice. I am pained by Rambabu`s suspension.
It hurt me a lot," he had said.
