Vijayawada: With the ongoing agitation for Telangana continuing unabated, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is understood to have on Sunday asked AICC general secretary and in-charge of AP affairs, Ghulam Nabi Azad to rein in errant Congress leaders from that region.

"They are doing a lot of damage to party and government through their comments and actions," informed sources quoted the chief minister as saying.

The chief minister is also said to have briefed Azad, onboard their flight from Hyderabad to Vijayawada today, about the impact of the indefinite general strike by government employees on the state's economy.

Azad was accompanied by Kiran, state Congress president Botsa Satyanarayana and a few CM's aides.

"It is the Telangana people who are suffering because of the actions of a few. We are spending Rs 15 crore per day to purchase power alone," the chief minister reportedly said.

Even IT hubs Bengaluru and Pune that draw electricity from the state were also affected due to severe short supply of power generation, he pointed out.

Reddy also informed Azad that the MGNREG programme was affected by the ongoing strike, they said.

"We are conscious of the ground situation here and are seriously working on a solution to the impasse. You renew you efforts for a dialogue with employees and request them to resume work," Azad is said to have told Kiran.

Azad enquired about the resignation of Infrastructure Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy from the cabinet and the possibility of other ministers from Telangana following suit on the statehood issue, they said.

Both Azad and Kiran attended a function at Yerragondapalem in Prakasam district to mark the launch of 'Indira Jala Prabha' programme.

Later, they attended some inaugurations in Vijayawada and also took part in the 'Vande Gandheeyam' programme organised by local MP Lagadapati Rajagopal to commemorate the 142nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

The agitation is illegal and all problems for common man. These politicians are really very selfish and don’t care for development. Why are people listing to politician? They should know that getting a state is not a solution to any problem. No state has flourished financial after bifurcation. If CM is unable to handle the situation, president rule should be imposed.

Sorry to hear CM`s comments. Is he feeling the pinch now of telangana and the image of congress. Why did congrees sleep 50 years and want more time to decide. Does he have any shame. Let him shut hsi mouth and go to the root cause for playing with telangana people. Be sure Congress will be loosing now in Telangana not becuase of T. MLAs and MPs. But of you and the lethargic Congress Leaders in Delhi. Democracy is of the people, by the people and for the people not by the Congress, for the Congress and of the congress. May congress rest in peace in Telangana.

History will repeat itself. Based on stupid advise of Seemandhra Congress leaders. Congress will be wiped out in Hyderabad / Telangana like in Uttar Pradesh where they have not been able to form a govt on their own for 22 years. Other than landgrabber Politicians like Danam Nagender. Who supports the Congress Policy on Telangana?
