Hyderabad: In a bid to dispel rumours
about his failing health, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K
Rosaiah today came to office late in the evening and held a
review meeting on rains and flood situation in the state.

Rosaiah was down with viral fever for nine days now
and had visited office only for about 45 minutes on September
4 to attend the agreement signing ceremony of Hyderabad Metro
Rail Project.

Though he also took part in late Chief Minister Y S
Rajasekhara Reddy`s first death anniversary function at Gandhi
Bhavan here on September 2, he had not moved out of his
residence as "he was very weak".

Rosaiah also missed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh`s
visit to Chittoor district on September 1 because of
ill-health.

The Chief Minister`s Office, however, stated that
Rosaiah had been perusing and clearing files at his residence
even as speculation was rife that the 77-year-old Chief
Minister was not in the pink of his health.

Rosaiah held a couple of brief review meetings at the
CM`s camp office yesterday and one today. He also received a
TDP delegation, led by Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu
Naidu, a couple of days ago at the camp office.

Besides these, he cancelled all his engagements over
the last one week.

Doctors from Nizam`s Institute of Health Sciences had
been conducting medical tests daily on the ailing Chief
Minister.

NIMS director Prasada Rao maintained that Rosaiah`s
health was stable and he was only advised rest for a few days
since he is very weak.

A TDP leader who met Rosaiah the other day said he was
so weak that he was unable to walk or talk properly.

This led to rumours that the Chief Minister`s illness
was something more serious than what the doctors were
officially claiming.

Amid this, Rosaiah came to Secretariat around 5.15
pm today and spent about an hour in his office. He held a
review meeting on rains and flood situation with Agriculture
Minister N Raghuveera Reddy and other officials.

"There is nothing to worry about the Chief Minister`s
health," Raghuveera said after the meeting.

Sources in the Chief Minister`s Office said Rosaiah`s
engagements for the next two days have been cancelled.

"He will continue to take rest at his residence and go
to Camp Office if required," a CMO official said.
