Scribes protest delay in implementation of Wage Board

Hyderabad: Demanding quick implementation of recommendations of Majithia Wage Board, a large number of journalists and non-journalists from various media organisations held a protest here on Tuesday.
As per the call given by the Confederation of Newspaper and News Agencies Employees Organisations (CNNAEO), the staff of the media organisations gathered at the office of Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) at Basheerbagh, close to the State Assembly, and organised a
Raising slogans in support of their demands, they demanded that the recommendations of the Majithia Wage Board be implemented without further delay.
Journalists unions` leaders Devulapalli Amar, D Somasundar, Y Narender Reddy and others led the protest.
Speaking on the occasion, Amar regretted that the recommendations of Majithia Wage Board are not implemented till now despite being notified in November last.
A delegation of mediapersons later submitted a memorandum to the Labour Commissioner.
The CNNAEO called for nationwide protests and a Parliament `gherao` programme in the national capital today in support of the demand for implementation of Wage Boards` recommendations.
