Hyderabad: Seven persons, including four contract labourers from Jharkhand, were killed and four others seriously injured in a road accident in Visakhapatnam city Saturday this morning, police said.
The mishap occurred at around 5.45 am when a speeding
lorry rammed into the vehicle in which they were travelling,
they said.
"Four of the deceased hail from Jharkhand and were
working as temporary labourers in Gangavaram Port while the
remaining were from nearby areas of Visakhapatnam," a senior
police officer told a news agency over phone.
The lorry driver has been taken into custody and
further investigations were on.
