Guntur: It was a double tragedy for a
women who lost her husband and son in subsequent days in
Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, police said today.
Narsamma (50) suffered a heart attack after she got the
news that her 30-year-old son, who had gone to light the pyre
of his father, B Hanumant Rao, collapsed while the funeral
preparations were on and died.
Shocked at the double death of both husband and son,
Narsamma suffered a heart attack and has been hospitalised,
they said.
She was rushed to a hospital where her condition is
stated to be out of danger, they added.
55-year-old Rao, who hails from Chilakaluripet town, was
critically injured when a tractor knocked him down while
crossing a road on May 9 in west Godavari district. After a
week's treatment, he was brought to the town for further
treatment. He passed away yesterday.
Rao, a florist, had gone to Bhimadole town in west
Godavari district to visit his relatives.
