Hyderabad: Two students of a government
school in Andhra Pradesh`s Anantpur district sustained hand
fractures after they were allegedly thrashed by their physical
education teacher for not participating in a PT class,
officials said.

The incident came to light yesterday when parents of the
boys, both studying in Class X, staged a sit-in in front of
Siddirampuram Government High School in Bukkarayasamudram area
demanding action against the teacher K Anitha.

"Anitha has been placed under suspension pending
inquiry," District Education Officer Premanandam said.

The DEO said parents of the victims did not lodge any
police complaint as a probe is on in the matter.

Both the students are being treated in a hospital, the
officer added.
