Telangana bandh: Educational institutes shut Hyderabad: Schools and colleges remained closed at many places in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh Friday following a shutdown call given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) to protest the alleged lathicharge on students at Osmania University here.

‘The JAC called for shutdown of educational institutions in the region against the alleged police action at the varsity yesterday. The students were agitating against the Srikrishna Committee recommendations on the Telangana issue.

The students of the University had called for a general bandh in the region today but the political JAC appealed only for closure of educational institutions. The 'Sankranti' vacation for schools and colleges starts from tomorrow.

Life remained unaffected in Hyderabad and other places in Telangana and no reports of any untoward incident were received. Commercial establishments were open and public transport buses were running on schedule.

The JAC also asked government employees in Telangana to undertake lunch-hour protest in their offices today in support of the demand for introduction of a bill for formation of separate Telangana in the budget session of the Parliament.

IT IS TIME TO STOP CONGRESS DRAMA...THAT IT IS PLAYING SINCE ITS BIRTH Telangana will be & must and should be formed with Hyderabad as capital. No question of making Hyderabad a) UT - As it does not fit into it. Moreover, it is the only part of Telagana with some development b) Common Capital - Impractical, as Hyderabad is tooooo faaaaaar from AndhraRayalaseema Apparently nothing expected out of this report! cong - SHOULD STOP ITS DRAMA TDP - Nothing left for it in Telangana due to its two eyes (TelanganaAndhra-Seema) policy, Infact it seems to be the time for TDP to go blind!! People like Chandrababu, Chiranjeevi, TDP, PRP and ofcourse CONG - mother of all corrupted parties and dynasty based party are responsible to drag it more & more. Telangana must & should be formed, and will be formed, asking abt HYD is a useless question like ``Is heart is part of body?`` Governor, CM, DGP, CONG, Center all are antitelangana...they are soul less..

The issue is simple no development in Telangana region, which the state government should start looking into.
Secondly, somebody wants to become Mahatma Gandhi of Telangana at the cost of general public. We all have experienced in past and have to leave with the fact that we listen to politician who act to be thinking for our benefits. We become emotional when politicians just act to be on hunger strike. What happened or what ppl did pre independence was for the nation and not to fill the individual bank account.
