Telangana protestors attack Hyderabad college

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at a private college in Hyderabad as Telangana activists attacked it demanding its closure while the parents of students staged a protest asking the management to keep it open.

Protestors pelted stones at the NRI College in Kukatpally, damaging its window panes. They were demanding that the management shut the college in view of the ongoing general strike in Telangana for a separate state.

Earlier, parents of students staged protests outside the college, demanding that the management run classes. They voiced concern over the future of their children who have already lost classes for a month.

The protestors, who had a heated argument with the parents, pelted stones on the college building. Police used batons to disperse protestors, eyewitnesses said.

The parents' association of the same college had on Sunday held a meeting demanding that the Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) exempt educational institutions from the strike.

Utter confusion prevailed on Monday among students over whether schools and colleges would open after Dussehra holidays. A large number of students were seen returning from schools as the managements decided not to run the classes in view of JAC's call to all educational institutions to remain closed.

In Kukatpally, where a large number of residents hail from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, some schools opened amid tight security provided by police.

However, the majority of colleges and schools, especially those run by institutions from Andhra, remained shut in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

All government-run educational institutions in Hyderabad and nine other districts of Telangana also remained closed as over 120,000 teachers continued the strike seeking a separate state.

The educational institutions are closed in the region for nearly a month as teachers have joined hands with other government employees in the people's strike.

most dissapointing thing is, stdents are missing their lovers ( girls/boys) as many of them use to bunk after noon last class and sit in net center / cafe / park and were kissing , and touching every e\where of each other. Now they might be feeling of meeting and touching each other as soon as classes starts, plan for going to movie by bunking the class with their lovers .... that`s the most pity thing for them ( may be) rather than study....

Measuring loss to the young boys and girls by this prolonged interruption of their studies cannot be mde in conventinal terms. The damage to their future is being caused with a vague promise of better future for all irrespective of merit. Their competitive edge is being irrevocably damaged. Any movement by politicians putting the innocent children as scape goats is a cruel act that is unpardonable.

it seems management is also hand and glove with the protestors otherwise if they are really interested in running the college taking the students interest, they could have sought protection from the police, which they have failed to do. Unless the protest is initiated by the politician in person, police should be given power to arrest the protesters on charge of breaking the law and send them to judicial custody. would like to know whether the students of telengana wants to lag behind leave alone Andhra but the entire country. Who will give them the job when it comes to campus ion. The first question to be asked whether you have participated in the political strike,if so, the candidate is summarily rejected. These points need thinking before you go to the street for protest. There are students whose parents may be well off but think of those students whose parents are dependent on the students to come up in life. I really pity teachers who are supposed to guide the student s are themselves participating in the strike.

Let them stay like this for this life, what is the reason for staying away at work, Things will be done in the next elections if you are electing the people and sending them to pass th bill, People vot politicians and people do the needful. Then what is the role of politicans, they will take the salaries and enjoy benefits. Y can`t thy give resign... All these are great to hear...
