Hyderabad: TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao
today said there will be a "terrible war" for separate
Telangana after the Srikrishna Committee submits its report
by December 31.
"This is a fight for justice. So, the final victory will
be ours. There will be a terrible war after (December) 31. I
said this earlier also. Telangana people have chosen to wait
because a (Srikrishna) Committee has been appointed," he said,
addressing a gathering at the party office here.
The TRS chief had earlier warned of a "civil war" in
Telangana if separate statehood was not realised.
He, however, clarified that civil war does not mean the
people would take up arms, but an atmosphere of anger and
disappointment will prevail in the region.
Rao said Telangana people would "teach a lesson" to
ruling Congress and main Opposition TDP in the coming bypolls.
"The Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) has asked
the two parties not to field their candidates so that those
who resigned can be elected unanimously. We knew that the two
parties would contest the polls. People would definitely teach
them a lesson," the TRS chief said.
The bypolls to 12 Assembly seats in Telangana, which
should be held by mid-August, are necessitated as the sitting
MLAs resigned in support of separate statehood demand. Of the
12 MLAs, 10 were from TRS and one each from TDP and BJP.
