Hyderabad: TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao
on Wednesday held a meeting with party leaders in view of the
by-polls soon to be held in the Telangana region.

The party would conduct a mass-contact programme `Palle
bata` (sleeping in villages) in some of the assembly
constituencies on January 7, 8 and 9 in the run-up to the
by-polls, TRS floor leader E Rajender told reporters.

The by-polls will be held for a total of six seats in
Telangana region.

In five constituencies, sitting MLAs have quit their
posts in support of separate statehood demand. Some of them
have joined the TRS. The by-poll at Mahabubnagar is
necessitated due to the death of the sitting member.
