Four-year-old falls in borewell in Haryana

Gurgaon: A four-year-old has fallen into a deep borewell in Haryana's Manesar town. A rescue operation has been launched, police said on Thursday.

The girl child slipped into the 70-feet deep borewell near Manesar's Industrial Model Township (IMT) on National Highway-8 while the family was celebrating her birthday around 11 pm on Wednesday.

"The administration is making all efforts to save the child," Manesar Tehsildar Balraj Singh Dangi said on phone.

Army and National Security Guard personnel have been called in to rescue the child. The area near borewell is congested which has increased the problems for the team, Singh said.

Three JCB machines were pressed into service to dig from two parallel sides of the borewell. Oxygen pipes were put in to help the child breathe.

The girl child was talking to his father up to 2 am but fell silent thereafter, chief medical officer Praveen Garg said.

Child's father Niraj Kumar is a factory worker in Manesar.

itz ridiculos!!!!!!!itz a sad thing.......poor mahi celebrating her 4 bday falls into the borewell......i feel that this bore well issues though bcoming so common in our country but no measures r taken to close it.............n d worst part is dat haryana is a state known for female foeticide............

Guys !! This is Haryana, the most idiotic state in the world. Bribes, Carelesness, Roadside fights, illitracy, girl child abuse and killing, owner killing, etc. are the main features of this state. The question arise why this borewell incidents take place in Harayana only and not in other states.

It is schoking to hear that a little child is facing such trouble that too while ceelibrating her Bday.Why autorities now swang in to action may be because of media otherwise in Haryana no govt officer work without bribe.This is because they are not laible for such happenings.There should be strict rule to over come such problem by making govt officers laible for mishappening so that they start to preampt such incident.The concerned officer in this and Rohatak NGO must be booked and panalised.In case of Rohtak NGO the recommender of sanctioner of aid to that NGO must be brought to books along with the culprit lady.Only than they will understand and think twice before indulging in graft.
