Kanpur, April 08: ISI threat is looming large on the third Test between India and South Africa, scheduled to be held in Kanpur from April 11-15, security agencies issued a warning to the Uttar Pradesh police following a threat through a letter.
The security at Kanpur has been beefed up. In a letter procured exclusively by Zee News, it is learnt that many terrorist camps might disrupt the proceedings with the help of ISI.
Sources have also not ruled out the possibility of Sikh extremists, Kashmiri militants, Naxalites or other terror camps hampering the peace and harmony of the cricketing fraternity.
With the Test match poised at a crucial juncture in the series, the news can also harm the players’ preparation.
Individual Black Commandos are providing security to the players, even as the team hotel has been converted into a fortress.
Meanwhile UP DGP Vikram Singh has ensured that in terms of technology and security they would not take any chance. “Security will be unprecedented just to ensure that those who watch the game do so without any fears whatsoever,” said UP top cop.
