Its new offices in Pune introduce state-of-the-art standards for delivering fresh, accurate navigation content and routing intelligence to India. The company delivers compelling new map products to the Indian consumer using multiple data sources including the latest crowd sourcing and community input tools.

“We are happy with our presence in India and that our products are gaining traction. The opening of our new map making facility in Pune will enable us to further improve our map and popular features such as landmark navigation and emergency help”, says Jocelyn Vigreux, Managing Director TomTom India.

TomTom maps have 100% coverage of more than 5,000 cities and towns across India and that’s built to work with Landmark Navigation – and exclusive TomTom extras such as advanced lane guidance and spoken street names. Landmark Navigation lets users find their desired destination by utilising known landmarks feature all the monuments, chowks, parks or attractions users need to find their way.

TomTom’s automotive-grade quality maps of India cover the entire country with street level details. The new facility in Pune includes a community tools development and engineering centre. This enables TomTom to build and integrate the most innovative tools in mapping technology. Such engineering projects have resulted in active community input projects to be used in its maps and make the most current and up-to-date maps of India.
