Itanagar: Senior Congress leaders Oscar Fernandes and AICC general secretary in charge of Arunachal Pradesh V Narayansami will be arriving here tomorrow when the counting for Assembly elections begins.

Congress candidates in three constituencies out of the total 60 have already been elected unopposed including Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu.

According to party sources, Fernandes and Narayansami are likely to stay back here to oversee the election of the CLP leader.

Ruling Congress leaders, including Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu and APCC chief Nabam Tuki, expressed confidence to come back to power with a tally of 45 to 50 seats in the 60-member house.

Congress went it alone in all the 57 constituencies which went to poll on October 13 recording over 75 per cent polling.

NCP which contested 10 seats in 2004 put up candidates at 36 seats this time including two sitting MLAs. Trinamool Congress, contesting here for the first time, put up 26 candidates including 10 sitting MLAs.
