AGP hopes to form govt in Assam Guwahati: Asom Gana Parishad on Wednesday expressed confidence of posting a huge win in the just concluded state assembly elections and forming the next government in Assam.

"Assam will have a non-Congress government. We'll win 53 to 56 of the 126 seats. We will form the next government", AGP president, Chandramohan Patowary told reporters here.

People came out to vote in large numbers. They would oust Congress from power, he said.

Former Chief Minister, Prafulla Kumar Mahanta claimed that Congress would be wiped out from his home district Nagaon.
