Assam: Bandh paralyses normal life in BTC areas

Normal life was paralysed in Bodoland Territorial Council areas following a 12-hour dawn-to-dusk bandh called by BTC Bengali Yuba Chatra Parishad.

Kokrajhar: Normal life was
paralysed in Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) areas
following a 12-hour dawn-to-dusk bandh called by BTC Bengali
Yuba Chatra Parishad on Monday, official sources said.

The bandh was total in Kokrajhar and most parts of BTC
areas with shops, business and commercial establishments
remaining closed and vehicles off the road.

There was, however, no report of any untoward incident
from any part of the BTC.

The bandh has been called to protest against alleged
police inaction in not arresting the culprits responsible for
the killing of one Mrinal Haldar, an employee of an electric
shop here, on July seven, sources added.
