Assam: Former Arunachal MLA held

A former Arunachal Pradesh MLA was arrested for possessing arms and unaccounted cash in Morigaon district of Assam.

Morigaon: A former Arunachal
Pradesh MLA was on Sunday arrested for possessing arms and
unaccounted cash in Morigaon district, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted Konleng
Doley`s vehicle at Mikirbheta under Morigaon police station
area and seized a 9mm pistol and 29 rounds of ammunition along
with Rs 3.33 lakh in cash.

Doley was arrested as he could not explain the purpose
of carrying the cash and arms, they said.

The vehicle, in which the former Congress legislator
was travelling, has been impounded and the driver detained.
