The state government is committed to integrating differently-abled persons in every sphere of life by chalking out a policy to stimulate their development: Gogoi.

Guwahati: The Assam government on Thursday said it was formulating a separate policy for all round development of the disabled.

On the occasion of International Day of People with Disability, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said in a statement, "The state government is committed to integrating differently-abled persons in every sphere of life by chalking out a policy to stimulate their development."

"Stating that the persons with disability are not liability but assets to the society, he underlined the need for generating awareness about disability issues and raising the rights, dignity and welfare of the differently abled people.
