Mazbat (Assam): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday assured the people of Assam that the peace process in
the state would be taken forward if the party returned to
power for the third successive term.

"Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has initiated the peace
process in the state and if he returns to power it will be
taken forward during the next five years," he told an election
rally here.
The Congress government has initiated several
youth-oriented policies and the party has given an opportunity
to the youths in the ongoing Assembly polls in the state, he
said.

"In Gogoi, we have a man with experience and vision. The
next government in Assam will be a blend of youth and
experience," he said.

Gandhi appealed to the voters to give youths a chance and
elect leaders of the future.
The Congress General Secretary was on a day-long visit to
the state to woo voters in Chaygaon, Raha and Mazbat
constituencies where the Congress has fielded youth candidates
- Rekibuddin Ahmed, Piyush Hazarika and Jitu Kishan.
