Kokrajhar: Former Bodoland Liberation Tigers (BLT) cadres on Sunday urged Assam government to immediately provide them rehabilitation according to provisions of the 2003 Bodoland Accord.
Chairman of Ex-BLT Welfare Society Jonomohan Mushahary said that an emergent meeting of their executive body was held on Sunday at Depalibil in Kokrajhar where it was decided to meet the BTC authority to persuade the state govt of Assam for
an immediate rehabilitation of the cadres.
"We will create pressure at the appropriate level to implement the clauses of Bodoland accord in letter and spirit," Mushahary said.
A resolution was also taken at the meeting to protect the forest area of BTC by adopting an appropriate strategy to prevent massive deforestation and illegal trade of forest resources.
"We have already held consultations with ABSU, surrendered NDFB and others and a mass awareness campaign and distribution of leaflets will be started soon," he said.
