Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said that he will order a high level probe by an official in the rank of additional chief secretary on the attack on Congress MLA Rumi Nath.
"I will order a high level probe at the level of additional chief secretary to find out the truth. It was an incident which is to be deplored," Gogoi told reporters here.
Reacting to charges that senior ministers including Gautam Roy and Siddhique Ahmed were allegedly involved in the incident of attack by a mob in a hotel in Karimganj on Friday, the chief minister said all aspects will be probed.
"Justice will be done and the culprits who have attacked a ruling party MLA will be brought to book," he said.
Rumi Nath, representing Borkhola assembly constituency and her `second husband` Jacky Jakir whom she had married without divorcing her first husband, were attacked and severely injured by a 200 strong mob.
