Guwahati: Guwahati Police Tuesday registered an FIR against peasant leader Akhil Gogoi for making "objectionable remarks" which had "created conflict between two communities.

A police spokesperson said in a statement that a case has been registered at Dispur police station against Gogoi, "who made some objectionable remarks with criminal conspiracy before media ... Which has created conflict between two communities".

Gogoi, leader of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), had alleged that the woman from Meghalaya who was found hanging at Dispur police station was raped and murdered by policemen inside Dispur police station, which is located next to the Secretariat complex.
