Popular Assamese actress Angoorlata Deka has made it to the assembly on a BJP ticket in the just concluded round of elections. She won from Batadroba, a minority dominated seat, by a margin of close to 6000 votes.
And, she means business. In an interview to a news portal, Angoorlata said that her being an actress helps in making a connect with the voters but she is into politics to prove it to the world that women like her can also work to bring about a positive change in the society.
A self-professed fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Angoorlata is focused on the task that lies ahead but a section of the social media and the press have space for only one aspect of her personality – that she is hot!
With some scandalous pictures, allegedly of hers, going viral, the objectification of Angoorlata Deka was complete.
While praising her 'hotness' may come naturally given her physical beauty but this praise becomes vulgar and voyeuristic when other aspects of her being are comfortably ignored.
