Two NDFB militants arrested in Assam

Tezpur: An NDFB `commander` and a woman cadre were apprehended by security forces in Assam`s Sonitpur district on Thursday and arms were recovered from them.

A group of five to six NDFB militants were sighted by a joint police and army team at Laodangi near Batasipur, under Dhekiajuli police station, according to district Superintendent of Police Ananda Prasad Tiwari.
Two in the group were nabbed and one of them was identified as NDFB Hugrajuli unit hardcore `area commander` Dilip Basumatari alias Dawkha, Tiwari said. The woman cadre was identified as Leena.

A grenade each of Chinese and Indian make, a huge quantity of firearms, ammunition and magazines were recovered from them, he said adding, and search was on for the rest of the fleeing ultras in the group.
