11 Maoists surrender; 2 arrested in Gaya

Darbhanga/ Gaya: Eleven Maoist cadres on Sunday surrendered before the police at Darbhanga town in Bihar.

The Maoists turned up before Superintendent of Police M R R Naik this evening and laid down arms.

They also deposited their firearms, including 11 country-made rifles and 36 rounds of ammunition. district tonight, the police said.

Meanwhile Two Maoist cadre were arrested from a village in Praiya police station of Bihar's Gaya district tonight, the police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided a place in the district and arrested them.

One carbine, several live cartridges and a number of Maoist literature and Rs 1.83 lakh in cash were seized from them.
