Patna: Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar today announced that the government was seriously considering a proposal to retstart the appointment process in cooperative banks of the state.

Paying floral tributes to the former NAFED Chairman, Ajit Kumar Singh on his third death anniversary, Kumar said no no appointment had been made in the cooperative banks for the past 25 years badly affecting the functioning of the cooperative banks in Bihar.

Kumar told the gathering that the state government would initiate the process of appointments for the cooperative banks in the state at different levels so that these banks could function properly and take care of the interests of rural people and the farmers.

The Chief Minister said that defunct BISCOMAUN which earlier used to supply fertiliser and seeds to the farmers had once been given the licence to supply the agricultural kits to the farmers after a gap of 20 years with the hope that the organisation with its broadbase could meet the demands of the farmers.
