Aren’t the RSS oldies ashamed of coming in public wearing half pants, quips Rabri Devi

Patna:  Rabri Devi, the former Bihar chief minister and wife of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, made a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP for their double standard in what they preach and practise.

Rabri Devi, while addressing the 9th triennial open session of RJD's national council on Sunday, attacked the RSS and the BJP over the use of lathis (bamboo sticks) by them.

"Why RSS and BJP people attack RJD for carrying lathis when they themselves use the lathis,'' she said.

Further mocking RSS and BJP, the former Bihar chief minister said, ''What type of organisation the RSS is in which even old people come wearing knickers. Arent they ashamed of coming in public wearing half pants?

Addressing the RJD session in her rustic dialect of Hindi-Bhojpuri mix, Rabri called upon the Mahagathbandhan leader to remain united.

Rabri Devi also advised them to desist from indulging in leg pulling of each other.

"If you remain united, Nitish Kumar-led grand alliance government will continue for 20 years in Bihar. If you indulge in leg pulling, it will be difficult," she was quoted as saying.

Referring to the recent controversy over RJD chief Lalu Prasad issuing instruction to Darbhanga civil surgeon, Rabri said Laluji has every right to inquire from the officers about people's problems.

She even asked the party leaders and workers not to raise domestic issues of RJD before the media and outside world.

"If you have any grievance within the party, come to me or Laluji and tell in our ear. We will take care of your grievances. But not to rush to media under any circumstances," she said.
