Become a JD(U) member by planting saplings: Nitish

Laying stress on making "Green Bihar", Bihar CM set planting of a tree as a pre-condition for those aspiring to become a member JD(U).

Kalyanbigha: Laying stress on
making "Green Bihar", Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday
set planting of a tree as a pre-condition for those aspiring
to become a member of his party (ruling JD(U).

"Those who desire or wish to become a member of JD(U), he
or she has to plant at least one tree on their ancestral
land," Kumar said while addressing a function at his ancestral
village Kalyanbigha in Bihar`s Nalanda district.

"In the event of non-availability of land, the man
aspiring to become a member of the party will have to plant a
tree at a vacant place or in a pot," he emphasised.

Kumar said under the Green Bihar campaign the party had
decided to enrol 50 lakh new members and plant 50 lakh trees.

"Only planting a tree is not necessary, what is more
necessary is to ensure protection of the plant," he said.
