Patna: The two-day debate on agriculture
road map for 2012-2017 concluded in the state Assembly on Tuesday
with thrust on ensuring rainbow revolution.
During his speech on the draft of agriculture road map
for Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the agriculture
road map has been drawn with due attention to agriculture,
increase of income of farmers, ensure electricity, enhance
storage facilities and promote food processing for achieving
the objective of rainbow revolution.
"Our attempts are to make Bihar self-reliant in
production of agriculture and make the sector export
oriented," he said adding a debate will also take place on the
road map in the state legislative council.
The main objective of the agriculture road map is to
ensure safety of food grains and nutritions and to increase
the income of farmers.
"The road map will be implemented for five years from
2012 to 2017 and we will put our resources for better
utilisation by managing crores of rupees required for
implementation of the road map," Kumar said.
The agriculture road map would pay special attention
to extension, network, storage and processing.

constituted under the chairmanship of chief secretary who
would ensure better coordination with the concerned
