Patna: A clerk of the Army Welfare Board
posted at Darbhanga in Bihar was arrested on Friday for allegedly
accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a retired army man,
vigilance department sources said.
The clerk identified as Surendra Thakur had allegedly
demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a retired armyman Hare
Krishna Prasad Singh for recommedning his name for appointment
as a guard in the Darbhanga branch of Bank of India.
Vigilance Deputy Superintendent P N Mishra said the
retired armyman filed a complaint with the Vigilance Bureau
here following which a team headed by Dysp Maharaj Kanishk
Kumar raided the house of the clerk and arrested him and
recovered the graft money.
