Bihar Deputy Chief Minister SK Modi lent his full support to eminent social worker Anna Hazare and other activists in their ongoing campaign for a comprehensive Lokpal bill for weeding out corruption.

Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister SK Modi
today lent his full support to eminent social worker Anna
Hazare and other activists in their ongoing campaign for a
comprehensive Lokpal bill for weeding out corruption.

"I have full personal support to Maharashtra`s eminent
social activist Anna Hazare and other activists for a
comprehensive Lokpal bill for uprooting corruption," Modi told
reporters on the sidelines of his `Janata Darbar` programme.

Stressing that the social activists had prominently
raised their voice against corruption, Modi said the Centre
should seriously consider their view and act swiftly instead
of "taking it as a prestige issue."

Referring to 2G spectrum scam, he said, "Several layers
of corruption involving the issue had surfaced and the UPA
government should take it seriously."

He said the NDA government was firm in its resolve to
uproot corruption at all levels in Bihar.

The 72-year-old Hazare today began his fast unto death
demanding enactment of a comprehensive law like the Jan Lokpal
Bill to tackle corruption.
