Bihar: Fire in Valmiki Reserve forest

Several wild animals were feared killed after a major fire on Thursday broke out in Valmiki Nagar Tiger Project reserve in West Champaran.

Bagaha: Several wild animals were feared killed after a major fire on Thursday broke out in Valmiki Nagar Tiger Project reserve in West Champaran district razing down 50 acre of forest area.
The fire broke out after some grazers burnt dead grass
which soon spread to the areas under Madanpur, Harnatand,
Naurania, Done, Punai, Harnatand Sadar and Chuitaha forest
area burning down vegetation in 50 acres, Valmiki Tiger
Project Director Santosh Tiwari said.

Several wild animals were feared killed in the blaze
that was still razing, he said.
Efforts were on to put out the fire.
