Patna: On the Republic Day Bihar government felicitated 15 armed forces personnel and officials from the state, who were earlier given different gallantry awards by the union government too.
All the awardees, including two posthumously, received
cash and citation by the Governor Devanand Konwar at the
Republic Day function here, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was
also present there.
While Lt Gen S K Singh, Capt Amit Kumar Singh and Soni
Devi, the widow of Shailesh Kumar received Rs 1.5 lakh each,
Prabha Kumari, widow of havaldar Ranjit Kumar got Rs 75,000.
Among the four, only Ranjit Kumar was earlier honoured
with Sena Medal, the rest were recipients of 'Surya Chakra'.
Others who were felicitated are Shiv Pujan Sharma, Ashish
Swaroop, Mrinal Kumar Shekhar, Raj Abhinav, Nikhil Kumar
Singh, Abhay Chandra Choudhary, Manoj Kumar Pandey, Gautam
Kumar and Shamsher Singh, Avinash Kumar and Shyam Bihari
Prasad Sinha who had earlier been decorated with different
medals.
