Patna: All seven candidates for as many
legislative council seats in Bihar were declared elected
unopposed today at the end of the deadline for withdrawal of
candidature, Returning Officer Surendra Sharma said today.
No election was needed as there were only seven
candidates in the fray for as many Vidhan Parishad
(legislative council) seats, he said.
The ruling NDA bagged three seats, three others went
to JD (U), BJP secured two seats, while two remaining seats
went to RJD.
The names of all seven winners are: Uday Kant
Chaudhary, Rudal Rai and Vijay Verma (JD(U)), Harendra Pratap
and Kiran Ghai (BJP, and Gulam Gaus and Ram Chandra Prasad
