Bihar minister caught napping during CM's programme

A senior Bihar minister was on Monday caught napping during a public interaction programme of Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Patna: A senior Bihar minister was on Monday caught napping during a public interaction programme of Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

While 'Janata Ke Darbar Me Mukhya Mantri' programme at CM's residence was in full swing, Transport Minister Ramai Ram was seen dozing by camerapersons.

The Minister woke up with the flashing of cameras.

Ram was among a number of cabinet ministers present at the programme which aims at addressing grievances of public immediately.

When asked about the napping, Manhi played it down, saying, "I did not see him dozing off. You might have."

A seasoned politician, Ramai Ram is an eight-time MLA from Bochha in Muzaffarpur district.

On earlier occasions also, he was captured by lensmen dozing off much to the embarassment of the state government.

In reply to an another question relating to some ministers leaving the programme in the middle, the CM said they had left for official work after informing him.

Senior ministers Vijay Chaudhary, Shrawan Kumar and Samrat Chaudhary left even as the programme was in progress.

The 'Janata Ke Darbar Me Mukhya Mantri' programme was started by former chief minister Nitish Kumar in 2005 for on-the-spot resolution of problems of public. His successor Manjhi has continued the tradition.
