Patna: Protesting against the suicide by a
medical student allegedly after ragging, NSUI has demanded
that Patna University authorities take stern action to stop
its recurrence in the colleges under it and the university.
A NSUI delegation led by its Bihar unit president
Shambhavi Sandilya called on acting vice-chancellor of the
university S Rai and submitted a memorandum to him and urged
him to set up a task force to prevent ragging.
The delegation also met Patna Medical College and
Hospital principal N P Yadav and apprised him of the ragging
problem in its campus.
A first year student of PMCH Sunni Kumar Roshan had on
January 26 committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling
fan at a private lodge here.
