Nawada: A passenger had both his legs severed after he was thrown out of a running train before another speeding one by a band of dacoits near Saras village in Nawada district, police said on Sunday.

Rajendra Kumar Singh was thrown out of Bakhtiyarpur-Gaya passenger train in front of another moving train when he tried to resist the dacoits last night.

Singh was referred to the Patna Medical College in a serious condition. Several other passengers were also attacked and injured by the robbers, police said.

The 15-member gang looted cash and valuables from some passengers and got down near Mahavatpur halt, police said.
