Patna: Seven candidates today filed their
documents on the second day of submitting nomination papers
for the first phase of Bihar Assembly polls on October 21.
The first phase will have polling at 47 constituencies
of the 243 Assembly constituencies in Bihar.
Eleven persons have filed their nominations so far
after the notification for holding the first-phase polls was
issued yesterday.
Seven persons submitted their papers to the Returning
Officers of their respective constituencies today, Additional
Chief Electoral Officer Anshumali said, adding four had
submitted their papers yesterday.
The submission of nomination papers is likely to pick
up from tomorrow with major political parties likely to
release their lists of candidates.
The last date for filing nominations will be October 4
and scrutiny would be held the next day. The last date of
withdrawal is October 7, he added.
